Please introduce yourself. We would like to know more about your background and experience in WoW, especially vanilla WoW (private servers included)

I'm pretty much the archetypal no-lifer. Wake up, play, eat, play, sleep. Been living like that for over 15 years now. I'm a fairly quiet guy in general, but highly dependable and pretty much always up for anything in-game.

As far as my WoW experience goes it's a long story, so I'll do the cliff notes and then I can elaborate later if necessary. I basically spent most of Vanilla looking for a guild that could live up to my expectations. I played on US, on EU, I played in bad guilds, good guilds, casual guilds and I lead guilds. I got server first rank 14 (on a terrible server) and I raced to 60 a few times. I pretty much did the lot. When it came to raiding though I unfortunately only got to clear up to C'thun before I had to take a break from the game and then TBC launched. After the initial launch of TBC and yet more unsatisfying raid results I started over on Magtheridon-EU where I eventually ended up main tanking all the raids for GLodge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghBnZif2zV4). And then in Wrath we had an amazing summer being one of the first guilds to unlock Algalon (through 10 mans) before things sorta fell apart (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDx_mOyEIsM&t).

When it comes to private servers I've been playing a bit here and there, but never anything serious, so going into Classic I was somewhat rusty on the end-game content. Much of that has already been smoothed over at this point though.

How much time will you be able to invest/play and raiding. In a vanilla guild this often means long commitment while waiting for all the content to be released and cleared. How do you feel about having to do same old raids over and over again?

I have all the time in the world, and I'll be around whenever I can. However, I have a complication with exactly when I can be on. Basically I live on a schedule similar to a shift-worker. So there will be periods of time when I sleep during the afternoon and play through the night/morning. I do not expect this to affect my ability to raid more than one week every 4/5 weeks though. And with some fiddling I might even be able to avoid it completely sometimes.

As far as raiding things over and over, it's pretty much what I'm looking for.

Please link a screenshot of your raiding UI with the applied class (you can use https://imgur.com/). Make sure that your keybinds and addons are set up, as we are very interested in inspecting them.

https://i.imgur.com/bTlRuFk.jpg I'm not quite happy with my raid frame setup yet.

Which specc will you be using with lvl 60 (Use http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent)?
Do you have a problem with any of the requirements written above(summoner, one fixed profession etc.)?

No. I do not have any of it prepared at the moment, but I have no issue with doing it.

What will you choose as second profession?

I am currently 300 alch/herb. Not quite decided which I'd keep.

Would you be willing to adjust your specc for the benefit of the raid?

Absolutely

There will be specific raidaddons that every raider will have to install, are you ok with that?

No problem

We require all our Raiders to use Discord during raids and for out-of-game chat/announcements/world boss alerts. We expect everyone to have it configured. Are you fine with that? here is the link to our guilds Discord https://discord.gg/nFXpxcR and pls post post your discord tag so we can contact you if needed

I'm somewhat new to Discord, but I've already been getting used to it with my current guild. My tag is Chac#0345

Is there someone currently in the guild that could or would vouch for you?

Ahlmn

Favourite Vanilla encounter(not mandatory)

I used to be a huge fan of General Rajaxx because of how it's a fight against an army rather than just a big boss. Made for a much more interesting encounter as a tank.

What are your goals and expectations from the guild or the game?

My goal with the game is pretty much to find that guild again like I had with GLodge. I enjoy playing with other people who strive to do well and is in it for the group. I'm not really interested in the loot or racing or whatever anymore. Pretty much been there, done that. I just want a cool group of people who knows what they're doing to play with. After all my experiences with the different facets of the game it's the one thing that's always rung true, find people you enjoy playing with.

Why do you think you would be a bigger asset to the guild over someone else?

My biggest assets at this point is my experience and my attitude. I might not be as young and "hungry" as I was back in the day, but I know what I'm looking for and I know what it takes to make an actual good guild tick. I also have plenty of experience with working together as a tight knit team and developing ideas and strategies as necessary. And on top of that is my generally cooperative attitude and availability.

Anything you would like us to know, for example a day you can not play at all weekly(not mandatory)?

I am currently a member of NewGen, so if this goes any further we're gonna have to discuss transition plans. I don't wanna just up and leave and screw them over, as I'm one of their dousers.

Hey Chac,

You mentioned about not being happy with your raid frame setup. This is how I'd recommend you to setup your frames. https://imgur.com/a/hbXgquK

The less you have to move your pointer and especially your eye, the faster you can react to everything .Centralized raid frames are the best for that but don't let it cover your character.

Another thing are mousover macros, allowing you to further cut down reaction time when you don't have to click raid frames anymore.

And with mouseover macros you can always keep boss/mob targeted, allowing you to see Target of Target. This is extremely important to keep eye on. Not only when you are tank healing, but having ToT allows you to quickly react when boss changes its target.

Cutting down reaction time by improving healing UI is in many cases the difference between a living and dead fury warr.

yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. The whole chat UI is how I used to play back in the day, but I guess it's time to give up on the idea that global chat channels are anything worthwhile =)

Had some change of plans and you can consider this application retracted.
